Wind tunnel it a fun and very relaxing game
AWESOME!!!! super application!!! I use this app in swim school to explain water resistance. Just amazing!
latest version on ipad with ios5 become unacceptable laggy and the rendered quality of picture degraded. previous version on ios 4 was smooth with fine picture quality. disappointed
Very nice app, smooth and fun to play with. To be a 5 star I would like to see: - Reynolds number on the speed slider - ability to save sketches - ability to import or share sketches - nicer user interface Good work!!!
Very nice and interesting tool. To add: Edit / Zoom mode for editing / create a new profile Save button for saving the new profile. Thanks for your work.
A specialy work, tanks a lot.
Fun to play with, very simple nothing too crazy.
Great! Would be nice if you could use a pic and/or zoom in to draw more accurately, otherwise Its amazing. keep up the good work.
I love this app! I have spent lots of time just playing making shapes and using the different modes on my iPad 2.
For us aerodynamics nerds out there, this app is incredibly fun and useful to understand and explain changes in velocity and pressure, and how minute changes in design affect the pressure distributions around an object... Simple to use, but above all FUN!
As an engineer who loves fluid dynamics this is awesome.
This is a great app. I am a flight instructor and showing how lift works is amazing through this app ! Its perfect ... But if you could rotate the airfoil to different pitch angles to show what happens as the angle is increased would be even better ! So if thats possible to do that would be great !
This is a great tool to visualize flows of different types. The only thing that would be rad would be the ability to insert shapes derived outside of the app, like an airfoil created in a program like Matlab or mathematica. Otherwise this thing is great.
One glimpse at the free version and I knew I had to draw my own walls. Best $2 spent in the app store! What could make it even better? Id love to have even a few basic drawing tools for straight lines, circles, boxes, etc. And the icing on that cake would be vector objects. Imagine creating your airfoil, then being able to rotate it slowly, changing the angle of attack and observing the onset of stall. Now youre talking! Thanks for a great app
This app actually inspired me to major in aerospace engineering just so I could mess with aerodynamics and fluid mechanics!!!!!
I am a pilot. Love aerodynamics great way to see how air reacts to shapes. Would like to see a save model option, zoom, would like to change angle of attack to see how the same airfoil reacts and more airfoil presets. At least some of the famous ones best app ive bought by far
I am a Certified Flight Instructor and this app is an awesome tool I use to visually show my students how an airfoil produces lift due to the pressure changes. However, it would be nice if you could rotate the object(s) in the wind tunnel in order to visualize what the airflow is doing as we increase the angle of the object until it reaches an aerodynamic stall, and what the airflow is doing once we have reached the desired position.
I love the interactive nature of this app. As a sailor, I now have a great way of explain the physics of sailing. Its amazing to be able to draw a foil and watch it interact with the fluid. The Venturi effect and Bernoullies principle are easy to understand when you can see them in motion. Would love to see better drawing tools and a way to rotate drawings.
One of the greater apps in the store! Only suggestion is physics objects and gravity So i can put a "ping pong" ball in a jet of air and watch it stay! Now i would buy the pro version for that!
This app allows you to draw objects in a virtual wind tunnel so that you can visualize how it will perform when it hits a moving fluid (like air). Whether you want to see how the water is moving behind the rocks in the stream out back or you want to see what happens in that calm spot behind the semi barreling down the freeway, this app can give you those insights. The ability to place smoke sources just about anywhere along or around your object lets you really zero in on the area of interest and highlight the activity there. What keeps Wind Tunnel from being five star (IMHO) is the rudimentary drawing system. You can draw any line you want as long as its fat and freehand. The addition of a straight-line tool and some curves would go a long way as would allowing various line thickness. With what is currently available youll find it challenging to create any object that doesnt resemble pre-school "art work". And while I realize that you wont be using this app to test the next super-airliner, it would be nice to be able to draw a model that could differentiate between a dump truck and a Tonka pull-behind. This is a good program...and more than slightly awesome to have running on my phone...and with some minor updates it could be a great program.
